At apoQlar, Apollogic’s affiliated company, we develop HoloMedicine® a certified medical Mixed and Augmented Reality platform used in clinical environments. Our software helps bring medical imaging and clinical workflows into spatial computing, supporting healthcare professionals in working with complex medical data in a more intuitive and interactive way.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer who wants to build reliable, scalable and production-grade backend services for a meaningful MedTech product not just another internal system or generic application.
About the role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will contribute to the backend services behind HoloMedicine® from APIs and data pipelines to clinical orchestration and real-time communication with XR devices.
This role gives you the opportunity to combine strong C# and Python backend engineering with real product impact, architectural influence and hands-on experience in a regulated MedTech environment.
You will work closely with XR engineers, clinical stakeholders and Quality/Regulatory teams, gaining exposure to a unique combination of backend development, medical technology and spatial computing.
What you will work on:
- Design, build and operate backend services in C# / .NET and Python.
- Develop APIs, data pipelines and integration services used by the HoloMedicine® platform.
- Support clinical workflow orchestration and real-time data flows to XR clients.
- Improve reliability, latency and session stability for communication with XR devices.
- Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work with workflow orchestration and CI/CD tools such as Argo Workflows.
- Build solutions with observability, security and maintainability in mind.
- Use monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and Loki.
- Support traceability, documentation and release readiness in a regulated medical software environment.
- Take part in code reviews, mentor other engineers and contribute to backend architecture decisions.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong commercial experience with C# / .NET.
- Solid working knowledge of Python.
- Good understanding of API design, distributed systems and data modeling.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions around architecture, performance, scalability and trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational and/or document databases.
- Experience with asynchronous messaging and integration patterns.
- Pragmatic approach to testing, CI/CD, code quality and maintainable software development.
- Fluent English.
- Availability to work remotely with visits to Poznań once per quarter.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with medical imaging technologies and standards such as DICOM, DICOMweb, FHIR or NIFTI.
- Experience with regulated medical software or standards such as EU MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485 or ISO 14971.
- Experience with real-time media or streaming technologies such as WebRTC, TURN or ICE.
- Familiarity with observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus or Loki.
- Experience with SBOM and security tooling such as Dependency-Track, Trivy or CycloneDX.
- Exposure to XR, AR or VR platforms.
- Experience working in a clinical, healthcare or medical technology environment.
