Winning the InnovMatch Challenge – our contribution to the surgery of tomorrow

For the third time, our company has been honoured in the competition for the most innovative companies organized by SAP and Techstars, InnovMatch (previously HCP Startup Challenge).

Innovative solutions based on the SAP Cloud Platform

The competition is addressed to Central and Eastern European companies that create applications based on the SAP Cloud Platform cloud environment. The Grand Finale was held on November 30 in Prague.

InnovMatch was divided into categories – individual challenges, which were set to the participants by the following companies:

• Atlantic Grupa
• Eurocash
• Sportina Group
• Selgros

Our team took part in the category “Your own idea”. It was addressed to companies whose ideas were outside of the range of other challenges. This is what Jakub Własny, Mixed Reality Team Leader at Apollogic, says about our application:

“Our application, VSI, is aimed at supporting the everyday work of doctors, specifically surgeons. We enable them to display the results of imaging tests (for example MRI) in 3D on a mixed reality device, Microsoft HoloLens. The holograms, based on 2D photographs, can be automatically superimposed on a patient’s body, which helps to orientate the anatomical structure and to identify the location of lesions. Thanks to SAP Cloud Platform cloud solutions we can integrate patient data from unconnected systems of different medical facilities and provide them in real time. This way, the doctors don’t have to use additional devices; they have everything close at hand thanks to the MR glasses.

InnovMatch was a great opportunity for us to confront the idea of VSI with the perspective of business and technology practitioners like Simon Kaluza, Managing Director SAP CEE. Success in the face of such severe competition leads us to believe that we’re going in the right direction. The InnovMatch team rose to the occasion and took care of every detail. I hope that it’s not the last Grand Finale we take part in!”
