Job interview in Apollogic – what can you expect?

A job interview is often a stressful experience.
How to minimize the tension associated with it? How to prepare? What does this process look like in our company?
Today we want to describe the full course of the interview proceshere at Apollogic, and thereby familiarize of all you, potential candidates, with what you can expect.
Our recruitment process
Before we can invite you for an interview, you have to apply for your position of choice. To do this, you should visit the Career tab on our website and find the right offer for you.
We always encourage you to get acquainted with the technologies we use, the latest company news, and read about our completed projects. Such interest is welcome at later stages and will certainly make it easier for you to get familiar with the company.
You can apply to us, even if you haven’t found the right offer for you. You can always send your CV independently. It is likely that we will include you in future recruitments or we will find a role tailored to your competences.
For our technical positions, once we have reviewed your application and we like your CV, you can expect a to recieve a short task to solve.
After sucessfully passing this stage, please anticipate a phone call from us. During that call we will schedule an in-person meeting at our company. Also, during the call we may ask a few a short questions, for example, about your availability, and in some cases, your readiness for business trips.

Process of the conversation
We invited you for an in-person conversation, what’s next? At such a meeting you can expect to speak with the Team Leader of your department and the HR Manager (I mean me?).
The recruitment process in Apollogic is a one-stage or two-stage process. The One-stage recruitment often results in you recieving a decision after the first interview in our office. We try to make sure that the interview does not exceed an hour and a half.
In the case of a two-stage process, we will also give you a task to solve.
Conversations are conducted according to the principle “from the general to the particular”. At the beginning you can expect an introduction about the company. We will tell you what it is like to work for us – the conditions, the benefits and our company structure.
Then we go on to talk about the team itself and a specific position. What the daily duties are, and what projects the team is currently working on. Due to the rapid development of our services, there are many new positions. That is why it is often possible to make a significant contribution to the nature of the work.
At any time you can also ask us questions and we will dispel your doubts. We want you to leave the conversation, knowing as much as possible about the company and the team to which you applied.

Verification of competence
Step 1: Competency interview
After our introduction to the company, we begin with standard questions related to your CV, experience, completed projects and education.
Step 2 (optional): Technical verification
If you haven’t received a technical task, we may also ask you to do some live programming, which we then discuss together.
In such a situation it is worth it to develop a habit of explaining and commenting on your actions and way of thinking. We positively perceive signalling what could be changed in the future in order to improve our solution or code quality.
But without stress – it’s not a high school graduation exam! ? You don’t have to know everything. We want you to be able to look for solutions and be open to the development of new skills.
The IT industry is constantly evolving, so the most valued characteristic is the willingness to develop and adapt to these changes.
Step 3: Competency interview
Then we move on to the competency interview. We check your soft skills such as communicativeness and talk about your work experience.
Examples of questions you can expect in this section:
- What are the most comfortable working conditions for you? Do you feel better with autonomous tasks or maybe teamwork?
- What motivates you?
- What is most important for you in the workplace?
- In which areas do you want to develop?
- What kind of project have you recently implemented? What problems did you encounter with it and how did you solve them?
Depending on the specificity of the position, we will also test your language skills. The official language of communication in Apollogic is English and depending on the specific function, it may be more or less necessary.
At the end of the conversation we will ask you to confirm availability, preferred form of cooperation and financial expectations.
What next?
We will inform you of our decision up to a maximum of two weeks after the interview. We will also send you an e-mail with a feedback in case the answer is negative.
Have you been accepted? In this case, we will inform you by phone and give you time to make a decision about the start of cooperation.
We hope that the description of our process helped familiarize you with what may be waiting during an interview with us. It is worth remembering that preparing for such a meeting (even minimally) will always make you perform better and certainly reduce your stress!
