There is no longer any doubt that artificial intelligence is playing a key role in revolutionizing businesses around the world and shaping the future of business. By integrating the latest AI innovations directly into systems, SAP offers tools that enable companies to manage their processes more efficiently and intelligently.
At this year’s SAP Sapphire conference, exciting expansions were announced in the area of generative SAP Joule integration and new SAP Business AI features that enhance SAP’s comprehensive portfolio of business applications.
SAP Joule integration
One of the most significant announcements is the broad integration of the generative SAP Joule – across SAP’s technology platform and business application portfolio. Joule, unveiled in September 2023, already supports products such as SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Start, and has been extended to SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Customer Data Platform, among others.
In the second half of 2024, SAP Joule will also be available in SAP Ariba, SAP Analytics Cloud and numerous supply chain management solutions. In addition, Joule will understand and respond to queries in multiple languages, including German, Spanish, French and Portuguese, making it even more useful for global organizations.

New capabilities of SAP Business AI
SAP continues to make innovations based on artificial intelligence that deliver measurable results. New features include, but are not limited to:
- Customer Experience (CX): State-of-the-art predictive tools in the CX area enable more accurate prediction of customer needs. With the new AI Shopping Assistant, customers can ask questions in their language and receive personalized answers and product recommendations, significantly improving the shopping experience. A generative content creation tool allows content personalization based on data from SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud, which increases the effectiveness of marketing and sales campaigns.
- ERP and finance: SAP Business AI introduces advanced financial process automation features. New capabilities in SAP Advanced Financial Closing automate error explanations and provide personalized data histories. Users using SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management can predict the risk of late payments by analyzing customer behavior and business correspondence.
- Human Resources (HR): In the area of human resources management, SAP SuccessFactors uses generative AI to create reports that support managers in compensation conversations. A new AI-based writing assistant helps employees create performance goals and feedback reports faster and more efficiently. SAP Fieldglass enables the rapid creation of job advertisements and their translation into other languages, making it easier to recruit external employees.
- Procurement and Logistics: AI in SAP supports intelligent product and supplier recommendations for more efficient procurement management. In SAP Asset Performance Management, new AI capabilities help technicians and managers visually inspect the condition of assets, speeding up inspection processes and improving the accuracy of assessments.
Development of partnerships
SAP is forging closer partnerships with companies such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Google and Meta to introduce innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence. These partnerships aim to increase operational efficiency and accelerate the adoption of AI in business.
- The partnership with Microsoft includes the integration of Azure cloud services with SAP solutions, enabling companies to use advanced analytics and process automation tools. This makes it easier for users to integrate data and applications from different sources.
