Apollogic at IX Online Marketing Congress!
Last week in Apollogic meant taking part in business events. We took part in E-commerce Congress, during which we had a chance to listen to experts working for biggest companies connected with e-commerce, and also to update our knowledge about market trends and get practical tips on advertising and sales techniques. We also participated in Online Marketing Congress, which means a feast for people from marketing and broadens knowledge about online promotion. About this event I would like to tell you a bit.
5:00
My alarm clock rings and this time I cannot afford a nap. I already know, that I am going to take part in special event, so I am leave as soon as possible to step inside the train at 6:26.
9:00
I reach railway station in Warsaw and welcome capital city bathed in the sunlight. I still have some time so I am go to subway as we don’t have such attractions in Poznań 😉
9:50
I am sitting in a conference room in Novotel CENTRUM hotel, where the event is taking place. It is already after official welcome. 2-metres man walks ups the stage and opens the congress. It is Marcin Prokop himself. His presentation concerns a matter of brand building in media, even though Marcin mostly speaks about mistakes made by journalists in traditional media. Without mercy he points out unprofessional preparation of reports, incompetence in conducting research and manipulating public opinion with incorrect information. I still have in my mind one of his words, especially that I am also a blogger: “More and more bloggers are becoming valuable and honest journalists. More and more professional journalists are becoming little value infobrities”.
11:50
During the congress there are organized also workshops that I decided to take part in. Unfortunately Google Analytics training is scheduled at the same time as 2 interesting lectures:
– Michał Górecki – well-known and respected CEO in koszulkowo.com, who speaks about his online business
– Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk – respected linguist and specialist in media and advertising language who explains when usage of phrase: “Like it” is appropriate.
Coming back to Google Analytics workshops – I get a dose of solid knowledge which is useful for any marketing person taking care of the website of his/her company. I get to know which tools to use first when starting GA “adventure”, how to create reports, which contain valuable information, how to interpret collected data and last but not least, what kind of conclusion may be gained from reports. Workshop proves that Internet website is an element, which has significant impact on sales in the company, especially if User Experience practices will be efficiently used.
13:30
High time for lunch! Food is delicious, but don’t expect any detailed description – I am not a culinary blogger! 😉
14:00
Centerpiece of the event – beginning of SME theme – speakers will be talking about promotion in small and medium enterprises. Lectures start with a dose of concrete knowledge, given by Marcin Kordowski from S3. We start our journey with communication tools like mailings, newsletters, social media, SEO/SEM, e-commerce platforms, discuss advantages and disadvantages of each solution and also about budgets required to effectively use those instruments. Then Grzegorz Błażewicz from SALESMango brings closer the issue of marketing automation based on conducting marketing activities with use of dedicated software, very often integrated with other systems such as CRM or ERP. An interesting speech is also given by Joanna Piela from K2 Internet, who reveals how to take advantage of social awkwardness in building engaging campaigns.
16:00
Last attraction of the day – Facebook Ads workshop, led by Piotr Chmielewski from SocialMediaNow. Piotr in a simple way presents wide range of information linked with company promotion via Facebook. Shows, how to reach target groups and particular Facebook users, how to configure ads and create nonstandard promotion by using Facebook Ads Manager, which may attract more demanding users of this popular medium.
17:55
With mind full of inspiration, with a dozen of ideas that I am planning to realize in Apollogic, I am coming back to Poznań. Online Marketing Congress is an interesting event on the ads events map:
- Invited lecturers are experts from different industries, dealing with different kinds of promotion
- All lectures are shared with participants in the form of video records
- Congress gives a chance to get to know practically tools used in online marketing by organizing certified trainings.
Online Marketing Congress – thank you! See you next year!
