When using a tool such as SAP Analytics Cloud, it is useful to know how it has been changed in order to be able to use it even better and more efficiently. In this article, I will present three functionalities that have been added in the first quarter of this year that are interesting from a user perspective.
Just Ask function
Just Ask is a new natural language query function using artificial intelligence. It allows any user to send queries in English to data models available in SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere.
This function can be accessed directly from the homepage of the SAP Analytics Cloud tool:
In contrast, the response is returned in the form of a simple visualisation:
Synchronising the calendar in SAP Analytics Cloud with the calendar in Microsoft Office 365
As of this quarter, the user can coordinate activities scheduled in SAP Analytics Cloud using the calendar in Microsoft Office 365. To use this functionality, the option “Enable Microsoft Integration” must be selected in the calendar in SAP Analytics Cloud. In this way, the user will be redirected to the Microsoft website and, after entering the user name and password, the calendars will be synchronised so that in the Microsoft calendar the user will see the events previously added in SAP Analytics Cloud. From the Microsoft calendar planner, it is then possible to track tasks to be completed, as well as to redirect to a story built in SAP Analytics Cloud to quickly complete a specific task, such as updating planned expenses for the next quarter or the amount of planned sales.
New editor in Data Analyzer
In the new editor, it is now quick and easy to add a custom calculation – a new measure the user would like to use. This is particularly helpful if the user wants to get an immediate analysis of the data, without having to wait for a new measure to be added to the model.
Summary
The functionalities described above represent just a few of the many enhancements and new developments introduced to SAP Analytics Cloud this quarter. For a full list of updates, I encourage you to visit SAP or to watch the video.
