New requirements for Microsoft Cloud Partner Program membership. Apollogic as a Microsoft Solutions Partner
Microsoft has announced new requirements for participating in its flagship partner program. Until now, becoming a gold and silver partner was preceded by completing a certification path, resulting in measurable benefits, the most significant of which was access to licenses for enterprise-class products for internal use. As of October 3, 2022, the Microsoft Partner Network service was rebranded as the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program. Redmond, a Wash.-based software vendor, is promoting cloud solutions while assuring that they offer partners greater flexibility in using funds for the Microsoft Azure platform.
The Microsoft Cloud Partner program is dedicated to all partner companies, whether they create services, develop software or build devices. The way partner capabilities are categorized also changed. The new partnership model differentiates two qualifying levels:
- Solution Partner is a designation reflecting the partner’s technical expertise in the selected area of specialization,
- Specialist/Expert is a designation confirming the ability to provide specialized services and technical support following Microsoft’s highest technical standards.
Microsoft has introduced new designations for organizations wishing to be a member of the partner program, focusing on six areas:
- Data & AI (Azure):
- Infrastructure (Azure),
- Digital & App Innovation (Azure),
- Business Applications,
- Modern Work,
- Security.
Each of the six designations has been assigned to different areas aligned with the Microsoft Cloud, and the previously used eighteen competencies have been phased out. The system for evaluating the capabilities of partners applying for official accreditation has also changed. The score is now measured in three categories – partner performance, skills and customer success – and then calculated based on information held in the Partner Center.
After meeting the new requirements, Apollogic has gained the Solutions Partner for Data & AI (Azure) accreditation, confirming our knowledge, expertise & experience to support customers in managing and collecting data across multiple systems to build analytics and AI solutions.
