What is CPI?
SAP Integration Suite is an Industry-leading and enterprise-grade integration platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that helps business seamlessly connect and Integrate their applications, data and processes within their organization and beyond.
The Service runs in the BTP, Cloud Foundry Environment.
What can you do with CPI?
With SAP Integration Suite, you can independently set up and manage your CPI environment, design Integration Flows, and securely connect and integrate cloud applications. This enables seamless data transfer from your SAP on-premise system through CPI to the destination applications, whether in the SAP cloud or external (Non-SAP) systems.
How does CPI work?
Data can be exchanged synchronously (send immediately) or asynchronously (stored in Data Store of your i-flow and send later according to the Iflow set up) between different applications seamlessly.
Case scenario:
CPI Scenario between Company A (an On-Premise system) vs Company B (e.g. SAP Cloud or Non SAP Cloud system).
Company A would like to be able to gather information e.g. Contacts of Prospect Customers at the moment the Prospect Customer clicks on the website to search for Products and have Lead IDs created based on some Campaign IDs triggered from their ERP system targeting the Prospect Customers.
An SAP cloud-based Company B has the ability to gather Prospect Customer Contacts and share them with Company A (e.g., ERP SAP Marketing) so they can contact the Prospect Customer either by email or through Call Centers using the phone number provided by the Prospect Customer. They can then propose sales deals by organizing campaigns and ultimately create Lead IDs for the Prospect Customer to follow up on a possible sale.
In order to exchange Data between Company A (On-Premise system) and Company B (A SAP / Non-SAP Cloud system), An SAP middleware system (CPI system) comes into play to Integrate System A and System B.
Solution to the Above Scenario:
Here is a diagram which illustrates how Apollogic Development Team would help you approach the solution to above case scenario by setting up secure connections between Company A system to communicate with Company B Cloud system via SAP BTP CPI.
Summary
SAP Integration Suite (CPI) is a powerful solution for seamlessly integrating on-premise and cloud-based systems, ensuring secure and efficient data exchange. Whether synchronously or asynchronously, CPI enables businesses to connect applications, automate workflows, and enhance customer engagement.
In the described scenario, CPI plays a crucial role in linking Company A’s on-premise ERP system with Company B’s cloud-based solution, facilitating lead generation and targeted sales campaigns. By implementing such integrations, businesses can optimize their processes, improve customer interactions, and drive sales growth.
