As of May 25, 2018, any company processing European Union citizens personal data will have to meet new obligations in connection with the GDPR/RODO regulation. These are the new regulations imposed by the European Union, related to personal data protection.
Analyses of the new law impact on business clearly indicate that adapting to the requirements of GDPR/RODO will be a long-term process. It assumes not only organizational changes but also technical changes in the company structure. In consequence, the effects of non-observance of new obligations may be very costly, both in the operational sense and as in view of the influence on company image. Penalties imposed by the European Union can reach as much as 4% of the company’s total turnover, though no more than € 20 million.
